A unique Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased lever presentation watch with a portrait of King Vittorio Emannuele II of Sardinia, circa 1865. Fine high-quality lever movement with three gold wheels and gold details, gold screwed cut bimetallic balance, Geneva striping.
The white enamel dial is adorned with Roman numerals and an outer minute track, perfectly complemented by fancy hands.
The case of this timepiece is simple yet sophisticated, with an engraved portrait of Garibaldi and on the other cover engraved portrait of Comte de Cavour, inside an enamel portrait of King Vittorio Emannuele II of Sardinia surrounded by in gold engraved foliage, adding a personal touch.

Vittorio Emanuele II; full name: Vittorio Emanuele Maria Alberto Eugenio Ferdinando Tommaso di Savoia 14 March 1820 – 9 January 1878 was King of Sardinia (also known as Piedmont-Sardinia) from 23 March 1849 until 17 March 1861, when he assumed the title of King of Italy and became the first king of an independent, united Italy since the 6th century, a title he held until his death in 1878. Borrowing from the old Latin title Pater Patriae of the Roman emperors, the Italians gave him the epithet of Father of the Fatherland (Italian: Padre della Patria).

Garibaldi is also known as the “Hero of the Two Worlds” because of his military enterprises in South America and Europe.
