A heavy and exceptionally large Swiss pocket chronometer with chronometer escapement, circa 1890. The watch features a 14K gold, engine-turned, hunting case with three gold lids, and a dome marked CHRONOMÈTRE. It has a very fine chronometer movement with a pivoted detent chronometer and helical hairspring, a fine adjusting device, and screwed gold chatons. The original enamel dial is in excellent condition and has Breguet-style radial hours, an outer minutes track, a subsidiary dial for the seconds, and pink gold hands.
