A Swiss gold enamel and diamond set hunting cased keyless lever miniature lady’s watch, with an associated brooch, circa 1889. Retailed by C. Fredenhagen, Buenos Aires.
This watch features an 8”’ frosted gilt movement with a cylinder escapement and a plain three arm balance, numbered 86190. The dial signed Patek Philippe & Co, Genève, is white enamel with Roman numerals, an outer minute track, and spade hands. The case is crafted from 18 carat gold and has a cover adorned with a polychrome enamel portrait of the Duke of Guise. The cuvette is signed and numbered Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, No. 86190, C. Fredenhagen, Agent Général, Buenos Aires.

Additionally, an associated gold brooch set with diamonds and pearls features a polychrome enamel portrait of a lady, possibly
Catherine of Cleves. The watch is accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming its production in 1889 and its sale on August 14, 1902. The Extract also verifies the enamel portrait of the Duke of Guise.

The movement is running. The enamel dial is in good condition, although the hands show rust and dirt underneath the glass. The case has scratches on the enamel portrait and some significant scratches on the back. The brooch features a French import mark on the hook. The enamel portrait has been restored and has a yellowish lacquer, with damage noted on the bottom corner.
