A particularly heavy Swiss pink gold pocket chronometer with helical hairspring, circa 1890. This pocket watch features a 14K pink gold engine-turned case with an engraved monogram. The case is very solid and has a finely chased dome. It’s inscribed with the word CHRONOMÈTRE and has a matching number on both the case and the movement. The movement is glazed and is a top-quality Swiss chronometer with chronometer escapement. It has a chronometer balance, fine adjusting device, screwed gold chatons, helical hairspring, and chronometer marking. The original enamel dial has Roman radial hours and an outer minutes track with Arabic numerals every five minutes. It also has a subsidiary dial for the seconds and pink gold hands.
