A Swiss lever in a 14 Carat gold full hunter case, circa 1941. Keyless movement. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, split compensation balance with blue steel Breguet hairspring. Lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, compensation balance, polished steel fine adjustment. Gold coloured dial with subsidiary seconds, signed Ulysse Nardin Locle Genéve, black Arabic numerals and Breguet hands. Plain 14 Carat open face case. Engine turned back.

Ulysse Nardin is a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1846 in Le Locle, Switzerland, which has remained in continuous production since. Ulysse Nardin has operated out of the same building headquartered in Le Locle, Switzerland since 1865. Historically, the company is best known for its manufacture of highly accurate marine chronometers supplied at one point during the 1800s to over fifty of the world’s navies. Ulysse Nardin first trained in horology under his father, Leonard-Frederic Nardin, and perfected his skills under the tutelage of Frederic William Dubois and Louis JeanRichard-dit-Bressel, two master watchmakers whose fame extended beyond the mountains of Neuchatel, Switzerland.
