Gold repeating full hunter

A Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased minute repeating keyless pocket watch made by J. Lippetz & Cie in La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva, circa 1880. A polished case with gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, outer minute divisions, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, auxiliary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold Louis XV hands. Glazed rhodium plated bridge movement with Geneva striping decoration, two hammers, two gongs, a screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.

Lippetz & Cie, Swiss watch manufacturer
Lippetz & Cie was based in La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva. This watch manufacturer already took part in a chronometer competition in 1883 with anker chronometer No. 3094. This watch was regulated by A. Hirsch. In 1896, at the Exposition Nationale Suisse in Geneva, Lippetz & Cie won a silver medal. The company also supplied hunting cased Système Glashütte watches.  It went bankrupt in 1917.
