–
A rare Geneva minute repeating gentleman’s pocket watch – the so-called Cut Hunter – was produced for the North American market, circa 1890. This pocket watch has an 18-carat gold, tiered, polished case in the à goutte style. The case includes a gold dome and slide for the repeating mechanism. The enamel dial is signed and displays radial Arabic numerals, an auxiliary seconds sub-dial, and blued spade hands. The bridge movement is rhodium-plated with fausses côtes decoration, two hammers, two gongs, and is Adjusted Extra. It also features a chatoned centre wheel, a gold screw compensation balance, an index spring fine adjusting device, and a counterpoised lever.
