An important Swiss hunting cased minute repeating pocket watch with a Jacquemart figure automaton of exceptional quality, circa 1890.
18K gold engine-turned à goutte case with a blank cartouche. The cuvette with exceptional ornamental engraving and inscribed with technical details. On the front a multi-coloured gold automaton on a translucent dark blue enamel ground with two knights striking the bells during repeating, in the centre decorative translucent blue enamel, a chapter ring with radial Roman hours, an outer minutes track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and filigree gold hands. Movement with Lecoultre calibre, screwed gold chatons, Geneva striping decoration, repeating the minutes.
