Maurice Ditisheim (1831-1899) was a Swiss watchmaker and entrepreneur.
In 1858 Ditisheim opened a workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds that quickly grew into the manufactory “Maurice Ditisheim”; in 1894, the factory began producing watches under the brand name “Vulcain”. Ditisheim was one of the first patrons of the MIH (Musée International d’Horlogerie), which was the international watch museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

A Jacquemart (sometimes Jaquemart and also called a quarter-jack) is an automaton, an animated, mechanised figure of a person, usually made from metal, which strikes the hours on a bell with a hammer.
