A very fine and rare Swiss 18 Carat yellow gold pocket chronometer, circa 1880. Half-plate, jewelled to the centre movement, Earnshaw type spring footed detent escapement with jeweled locking stone, gold escape wheel with gold mounted endstone, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands.
Polished and engine turned case. Hinged gold cuvette. Dial, case and movement signed.
