A decorative, paste stone-set Geneva pair-cased gold enamel verge pocket watch with a very fine enamel painting of a Galant scene, circa 1770.
This high-quality Geneva verge pocket watch has a gold à trois couleurs case with silver and gilt brass, a finely engraved three-colour gold band and a bezel on the front which is studded with paste stones. The back is decorated with a marvellous painted medallion showing a Galant scene inside a border of translucent enamelling that is framed by applied enamel ornaments and paste stones. The signed dial is enamel with Roman Empire hours, Arabic five-minute outer track and gold Louis XV hands. And the signed full movement is keywind and has a chain/fusee and a three-arm brass balance.
