A Swiss very rare and attractive watch with pivoted detent escapement and splendour renaissance case, circa 1870.
18  carat gold, “à goutte” case with engraved renaissance scene, all 3 lids solid gold, dome inscribed “CHRONOMETRE”, signed and numbered; very fine chronometer movement with pivoted detent escapement and screwed gold chatons; white enamel dial with Roman hours, sunk subsidiary dial for the Arabic seconds and blued steel hands.
