A Swiss rare Schaffhausen gentleman’s pocket watch calibre Jones with “Elson’s Patent” made in quality E, circa 1875.
18 carat gold, tiered, polished case, engraved cartouche with monogram, reeded band, engine turned gold dome with dedication engraving: “E. P. Brown, Nashua, May 1876“, glazed movement and case maker’s punch mark “TCH Co“. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. Rhodium-plated 2/3 plate movement, “Geneva striping” decoration, adjusted, “Elson’s Patent Sept 15th 1868″, screwed gold chatons, wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance, counterpoised lever.
