Pocket watch with gilt verge escapement

A rare verge watch repeater with an elaborate enamel painting, made by Girardier Laine in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1790. The open faced numbered case is crafted from silver, has a coined band and is engine turned on the back. The enamel dial has an elaborate multi coloured enamel painting, a centred dial with an outer ring for the minutes and hours with black Arabic numerals for the hours and blued steel hands. The gilt movement has a verge escapement and repeating the hours and quarters.
Dial is signed.
