A remarkable, heavy Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating astronomical watch with full calendar, moon phase and independent stoppable jumping center seconds, circa 1865. A rare, highly complex and very sophisticated piece. Rhodium plated bridge movement, 2 hammers/2 gongs, 2 barrels, gold screwed compensation balance, 42 rubies and eight screwed on gold chatons, repeater with unusually resonant tune. White enamel dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, subsidiary dials at 3, 6, 9 and 12 for date, moon phase/seconds, day and month, stoppable jumping centre seconds and gold hands set with 7 diamonds. Polished case with monogram, glazed movement and a gold Neuchâtel punch mark.  Comes with original  box.
