A rare quarter repeating hunting cased Swiss pocket watch with chronograph and concealed erotic automaton – with gold watch chain, circa 1890.
14 Carat rose gold, tiered and polished case with gold dome for concealing the erotic automaton, an amorous scene of two polychrome enamel cooks, case maker’s punch mark DK, pusher for chronograph at 12, and slide for repeating mechanism. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, Louis XV hands, and centre chronograph hand. Decorated and rhodium-plated 3/4 plate movement with screwed chatons, finely ground and bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, two hammers / two gongs, screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.
