–
A fine, rare Swiss quarter repeating gentleman’s pocket watch with full calendar and moon phase, circa 1890. This pocket watch features an 18-carat gold case with a tiered, engine-turned design in the à goutte style. The case is numbered and signed, including a gold dome and slide for the repeating mechanism. The enamel dial displays radial Roman hours, an auxiliary seconds sub-dial, and indicators for the day, date, and month. It also has a cobalt blue enamelled moon phase disc with a golden moon, stars, and gold Louis XV hands. The movement is a rhodium-plated bridge design with fausses côtes decoration, 32 jewels, two hammers, two gongs, screwed gold chatons, a gold screw compensation balance, and a counterpoised lever.
