A very fine and rare Louis XV style 18 Carat rose gold and diamond-set, lady’s keyless pendant watch. Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe box and the Extract from the Archives. Made for retailer Louis Rey in Marseille, France by Patek Philippe & Co., Genève Switzerland, circa 1889.
Four body, Louis XV style and polished case, the back cover with rose-cut diamond-set monogram and hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five minute numerals and gold Louis XV hands.
Matte gilt movement with 15 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, moustache straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring and an index regulator.
Dial, cuvette and movement signed, case numbered, cuvette signed by the retailer.
