–
An Art Nouveau pocket watch with relief case, made by Longines in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, circa 1920. The Art Nouveau relief case of this watch is crafted from silver, has a face with floral tendrils, a back with an eagle in high relief, on its breast the Swiss coat of arms and a cuvette with gift dedication to Mr. Fritz Oser local agent in Hofstetten since 1890. The white enamel dial has Arabic 24 hour numerals all in black except for the red 12 and 24 hours, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The movement has a fine Longines precision lever escapement.
Case and movement have matching numbers and the dial and movement are signed.
