A fine Swiss pair cased verge pocket watch with enamel medallion, circa 1770.
Two cases: outer case – 20 carat gold, three-tone, florally engraved band, on reverse side paste-set polychrome enamel medallion with the portrait of a noble lady, large lateral hinge, paste-set bezel, thumb piece set with pastes; inner case – 20 carat rose gold, polished. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours and paste-set Louis XVI hands. Full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, with applied floral decorations, chain/fusee, baluster-shaped movement pillars, three-arm brass balance and very finely engraved and pierced balance cock with mascaron.
