Gold tachometer chronograph dress watch with three tone dial

A very fine and unusual keyless 18 Carat yellow gold dress watch with a chronograph, tachometer, instantaneous 30-minute register and chronograph short pause feature. Made by Bovet Freres & Co. in Switzerland, circa 1930. Three body, demi bassine and polished case with a button at 11 o’clock for start/stop and return to zero function of the chronograph and a button at 1 o’clock for pausing the chronograph hand for short periods.
Three tone silver dial with black Arabic numerals and baton indexes, outer seconds and fifths of a second divisions with Arabic five-second numerals, outermost blue tachometer scale, subsidiary dials for the seconds, 30 minute register and blued steel baton hands. Rhodium-plated movement with 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, uncut bimetallic compensation balance, index regulator and a chronograph wheel above the seconds wheel mounted with a blued steel spring for correcting the chronograph pause.

The chronograph function in the present watch has the ability to be paused momentarily for a few seconds by depressing and holding down the button at 1 o’clock. When the button is released the chronograph hand corrects itself by the number of seconds paused.
