A fine Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased lever pocket chronometer, a Chronométre Grade Very Best, circa 1923. Divided ¾ plate movement, Guillaume gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute track and sunk subsidiary seconds. Plain case with an engraved monogram on the front.
Dial signed, case numbered, movement signed and numbered. Comes with the original presentation box.

Only 300 pieces of this exceptional calibre, 43.15, were ever produced in this luxury design.

Calibre 19”’ DDR of 1905 was replaced in July 1922 by the 43.15 mm calibre, this was the so called ‘Very Best’ quality. It has 23 jewels, 18 mounted, 2 at the barrel, negative wind, an intermediate wheel mounted on the plate, a Guillaume gold screw balance, a Breguet spring with two Phillips curves, a cam plate regulator with screws, position and temperature adjustment according to observatory specifications, an extremely accurate finishing of the individual parts, a luxury design.
