A very fine English 18 carat gold open faced lever pocket watch with 15 seconds indication, circa 1820. Full plate movement, key wind, chain and fusee, a Massey Type I lever escapement according to Edward Massey and three-arm steel ring balance, movement protection cap.
White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade & whip hands. The case with a florally engraved band, pendant and bow, the back is engine-turned, maker’s mark EJ. Case numbered, movement signed and numbered.
