An impressive Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased quarter repeating double sided lever pocket watch with calendar and moon phases, circa 1890. Bridge movement, a piston tooth lever escapement and screw compensation balance. An off-white enamel dial on the front with Roman hours, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, a central aperture for the phases of the moon and spade & whip hands. The dial on the back with a silvered outer ring displaying the days of the week, a gold plated inner chapter ring with the date and a rectangular opening for the months, a further decorative center and hand. The elaborately engraved case is glazed on both sides. Case numbered.
