Armand Schwob & Frère was based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In 1881, the company received two Swiss patents numbered 2445 and 2526 and an English patent number 9865 in July 1888 for transparent watches. These Schwob watches are usually found in silver cases and, occasionally, in silvered ones, only a few timepieces of this type were made in gold.
