A very fine Swiss 14 carat rose gold open faced lever pocket watch, circa 1907. Retailed by Mermod, Jaccard & King Co., St. Louis, New York. Bridge movement, Patent Jan. 13, 1891, a piston tooth lever escapement and gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with black Arabic hours, an outer minute track, red Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and Louis XIV hands. A plain case. Dial signed by the watchmaker, movement numbered and signed by the retailer and watchmaker, case numbered.

In 1873, Mermod, Jaccard & King Co., St. Louis in New York succeeded D.C. Jaccard & Co. The name changed to Mermod, Jaccard & King Jewelry Co. in 1905 for Goodman King had been a partner since 1865. The company primarily was a retailer and manufacturer of sterling and silver sheet items. The production of their silverware was discontinued in 1890.
