A very fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced keyless Chronometro Gondolo, circa 1907. Retailed by Gondolo & Labouriau, Relojoeiros, Rio de Janeiro. Gilded brass movement with going barrel, gold wheel train, an equilibrated straight line moustache lever escapement, a cut bimetallic compensation balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, patented index regulator with swan neck spring and micrometric screw. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold spade hands. The case with an engine turned back and polished bezels. Dial signed, case and movement signed and numbered. Comes with the fitted presentation box, an Extract from the Archives confirming the year of manufacture 1907 and the date of sale October 1, 1907.
