A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced gentleman’s pocket watch, circa 1890. The silver plated precision bridge movement with Geneva striping decoration, a lever escapement, 15 jewels, a screwed minute wheel set in a gold chaton, wolf’s teeth winding and cut open compensation balance with a Breguet hairspring. A richly engraved cuvette, floral inscribed In remembrance of February 19, 1891. White enamel dial with black Roman hours, outer gold minute dots, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and original gold Louis XIV hands. A guilloché case back with a, coat-of-arms-like, blank cartouche and stepped bezels, winding through the crown, hand setting via a button at 11 o’clock. Dial signed, case numbered, movement signed and numbered, movement and case with matching numbers. Comes with a gold chatelaine, a certificate and papers in Spanish, and a German instruction manual.
