Gilt verge watch with chatelaine en suite

A rare Swiss 18 carat gilt and enamel open faced keyless ladies’ pendant watch with a matching detachable chatelaine en suite, circa 1790. The frosted gilt full plate movement with a verge escapement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, a brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock with a polished steel endplate and silver regulation disc. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, outer dot minute divisions, Arabic five minute numerals, a winding aperture at 1 o’clock and gold diamonds set hands. A Louis XVI case with maker’s mark PDM, the back with a polychrome enamel scene. Accompanied by a fine and heavy, gold chatelaine set with a large oval garnet cabochon framed by diamonds. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.
