An early and extremely fine German 18 carat gold hunting cased quality 1A pocket watch made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, circa 1882. The ¾ plate movement with a piston tooth lever escapement and gold screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and stone set arrow hands. The engine turned case with a decoratively engraved shield shaped, monogrammed cartouche on the front. Dial and movement signed, case and movement with matching numbers.
