The Extract from the Archives included confirms the manufacture of this watch, “Amour”, with a red enamel dial, dauphine hand, rose cut diamonds and a red enamelled case in 1895, and its subsequent sale on September 25th, 1899. It also provides information about a no longer present repoussé outer case made of 18 carat rose gold called “Herculé”. However, since the original Patek Philippe leather box was made to store a winged brooch, the outer case may have been used to make the brooch shortly after the watch was purchased in 1899.
