Silver gilt repeating pocket watch

A French quarter repeating virgule watch in a gilded silver open faced case, circa 1790. Unusual gilt key wind movement with both the going and repeating trains under one engraved bridge, a rare virgule escapement, brass escape wheel, an engraved suspended going barrel with steel stop work, engraved cock with polished steel regulator and a plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Repeating the hours via the push pendant and repeats the quarter hours on two polished steel rectangular section gongs. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track with fifth of a second divisions, Arabic quarter hour numerals and gilt spade hands. An engine turned case with plain bezels, pendant and bow, and a vacant cartouche on the lower back, wound and set through the gilt cuvette.
