A very attractive and very rare Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond-set fan form watch, circa 1890. Very fine cylinder movement, wolf’s toothing. Extraordinary enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, coloured decorations. Case in the shape of an opened fan with 11 segments, both sides black enamel, the back with polychrome enamel representations of a flying bird, flowers, leaves and insects, in the middle a rose set with diamonds, case maker’s mark HL. Case numbered.
