A Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced chronograph pocket watch, circa 1888. Retailed by Dubois in Rio de Janeiro. Ankerchronometer movement, calibre Chronometro Gondolo in nickel plated version, special fine adjusting device, wolf’s toothing, very early crown pusher chronograph. White enamel dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes, chronograph register, and rose gold hands. Plain à goutte case. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.

This watch is an extremely rare Patek Philippe chronograph. The first series for the South American market where the chronometer calibre ‘Gondolo’. This watch was not made for the typical receiver Gondolo & Labourian, Rio de Janeiro, but for the company Dubois in Rio.
