A technical interesting, very fine Swiss 18 carat gold half-hunting cased 1/8 hour repeating pocket chronometer with calender, circa 1865. Very rare precision movement, Swiss pivoted detent escapement, repeating the hours, quarter hours and half-quarters. Cuvette inscribed Echappement Libre a Bascule rubies. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, and date. Engine turned case, reeded band. Case signed and numbered. Comes with the original mahogany box.
