An early and rare Swiss 18 carat gold open faced ankerchronometer chronograph pocket watch, circa 1883. Very early chronograph movement, extra-large gold balance with screws, wolf’s toothing, Geneva striping decoration, start and stop with crown pusher. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands. Plain case. Case numbered, dial signed, cuvette and movement signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers. Comes with an Extract from the Archives that confirms the chronograph was manufactured in 1883 and sold on 17 September 1884. Also accompanied by the original wooden box.
