Gold, enamel and diamond-set chatelaine watch by Guillemin Frères

An extremely rare French 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond-set open faced cylinder pendant watch with chatelaine, circa 1860. Very fine cylinder movement, wolf’s toothing. White enamel Louis XV dial with black Roman hours and red Arabic five minutes, rose gold hands. The case back with an enamel portrait attributed to Limoges, Renaissance Revival Marie de’ Medici Queen of France, set with 12 rose-cut diamonds. Comes with corresponding chatelaine, gold, silver, enamel and gem-set, probably rubies, motif also Renaissance Revival, maker’s mark Froment-Meurice. Case numbered, cuvette signed and numbered.
