An extremely rare Swiss silver verge pocket watch with alarm and rotating date display, circa 1690. Very early verge movement, early hairspring, alarm on a bell, extremely rare rotating date indication by a fusee going train. Champlevé dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, central alarm disc, iron hands. Silver protection case, round sound openings, pierced silver case, splendid tendrils, in between vases and birds, bell. Movement signed.

The date display with a going train by a fusee, separate from the hand setting, is extremely rare. From pocket watches with this complication, only a few examples are known.

François Terroux, 1664-1743, son of Gabriel Terroux, was apprenticed to Jean-François Lachis in 1677 and became master in 1684.
