A fine Swiss silver Louis XIV single-hand Oignon watch wound through the centre, circa 1690. Gilt brass full-plate movement with divided Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, short flat balance spring, fine gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage and a central mask, the upper edge with Arabic regulator scale with steel lever.
Silver case, back and bezel lightly cast and chased with flowers and foliate strapwork, square hinge, loose ring pendant.
Silver champlevé dial, with radial Roman numerals and half and quarter-hour divisions, foliate center. Blued steel hand. Movement signed.
