An extremely heavy German rose gold hunting cased quarter repeating seconde morte Louis XV pocket watch, made by A. Lange & Söhne. circa 1890. Highly complicated 1A quality precision lever movement, repeating the hours, quarter hours and seconde morte, diamond endstone, gold lever, gold escape wheel, screwed gold chatons, fine adjusting device. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, black hours and rose gold minutes, rose gold Louis XV hands. Plain case, Louis XV version with a lateral hinge. Case numbered, dial signed, movement signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers. Comes with an Extract from the Archives.

The punch shows that the spring lid was replaced at A. Lange & Söhne long ago (absolutely authentic and visually not distinguishable). This was probably carried out during a revision and is noted in the Extract from the Archives.
