Very fine Austrian 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set mandolin form watch with concealed dial and visible balance, circa 1810. Matte gilt full plate movement, fuse and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three armed brass balance, blued steel flat balance spring, continental balance. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals. Band decorated with black champlevé enamel and pearls, translucent royal blue enamel and enameled musical score on engraved gold foliage to the back, the front overlaid with translucent red enamel, pearl set, gold strings. Movement signed. Accompanied by a box.
