A very fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless Chronometro Gondolo made for the Brazilian market, circa 1907. Gilded brass movement with a going barrel, gold wheel train, an equilibrated straight line moustache lever escapement, a compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, patented index regulator with swan neck spring and micrometric screw. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals, sunken subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold spade hands. The hinged case with an engine turned back. Dial signed, case and movement signed and numbered.
