A unique Russian 14 carat rose gold and enamel hunting cased lever pocket watch, presumably a present watch of the Russian Tsar’s house to a locomotive driver of the Russian railway, circa 1897. Cuvette signed in Cyrillic and numbered. Fine ankerchronometer movement, Geneva striping decoration, wolf’s toothing. Perfectly preserved white enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds, rose gold hands. Engine-turned case, enamelled on both sides, spring lid with various coats of arms and crown, enamelled lettering on the back of the Russian railway line Moscow-Kasan, the inside inscribed with a Cyrillic name and dating 1876-1897. Comes with signed original box.
