The important Geneva watchmaker Blondel joined Antoine Melly around 1800 and founded the world famous company Blondel et Melly, which made very fine enamel pocket watches. This piece comes from a time long before this merger, but already shows the high quality, for which the company later became known. In particular, the case is an absolute exception.
