An exceptionally heavy Swiss 14 carat rose gold hunting cased pocket chronometer, circa 1891. Probably sold to Russia. Patek Philippe chronometer movement in observatory quality, wolf’s toothing, chronometer balance with gold screws, helical hairspring, special lever, screwed gold chatons. Champagne-coloured enamel dial with black Arabic hours, red five minutes and red seconds, rose gold Louis XV hands. Plain case with Russian punch and maker`s mark B in a shield, case maker FM.  Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.

Diameter: 58 mm
–
Weight: 203 g
–
Signed: Patek, Philippe & Cie Genève
–
Because the case has no Patek Philippe punch, this extremely rare chronometer movement was probably delivered to Russia without a case. With its weight and the rare observatory calibre, this is an extremely rare Patek Philippe collector’s watch.
