Silver erotic repeater with Jacquemart by Les Frères Esquivillon & De Choudens

Extremely rare Swiss silver open faced skeletonized repeating verge pocket watch with Jacquemart and hidden erotic automaton, circa 1810. Verge escapement, skeletonized repeater movement, automaton release by switch lever beside the hinge. Small white enamel chapter ring with Roman hours and outer minute divisions, gilt hands. Case with an engraved scene of mountain and lake on the back, reeded band. Cuvette signed, movement signed and numbered.

Esquivillon & De Choudens were active in Geneva and Paris between 1765 and 1830. The Geneva watchmaker Jacques Dechoudens (1728-1801) founded a workshop with brothers Joseph Esquivillon (1714-1798), Jean François Esquivillon (1) (1733-1813) and Gédéon-François Esquivillon (1717-1799), who produced high-quality verge pocket watches. The company was specialized in figure automatons and musical watches.
