A heavy, high-quality Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased pocket chronometer, circa 1890. Bar movement, very fine and early pivoted detent escapement, screwed gold chatons, still without fine adjusting device, helical hairspring. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds, blued steel hands. Engine-turned case, blanc cartouche. Dial, cuvette and movement signed Chronomètre, cuvette numbered.
