Open-faced repeating lever split-seconds chronograph by Patek Philippe

A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold open-faced minute repeating keyless lever pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph, circa 1888. Retailed and cased by Tiffany & Co, New York. Sold on July 17, 1889. Nickel-silver movement, Geneva striping decoration, 23 jewels, straight-line counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating activated by a slide on the band. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with painted Breguet numerals, outer minute and 1/5 seconds divisions with, red Arabic five-minute/seconds numerals, and original blued steel spade hands. Solid case, polished, rectangular pusher on the band for the split-seconds function, locking bolt at 11 o’clock, concealed hinges. Dial, case, and movement signed Tiffany & Co, movement numbered.
