A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced keyless lever Chronometro Gondolo with 24 hour dial, circa 1909. Retailed by Gondolo & Laboriau, Relojoeiros, Rio-de-Janeiro. Sold on Sept. 27, 1909. Gilt brass movement, 21 jewels, straight-line moustache lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, patented index micrometer regulator, gold wheel train, wolf’s tooth winding. Dial, case and movement signed, case and movement numbered. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, red 6-12-18-0 (24), outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial and original gold feuille hands. Engine turned case, foliate monogram to the back. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe fitted box and the Extract from the Archives.
