A fine Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced two-train independent dead-seconds cylinder pocket watch with gold chain and ratchet key, circa 1840. Frosted gilt movement, two-train, 10 jewels, ruby cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with flat balance spring, pare-chute on the upper pivot, independent seconds with flirt mechanism acting on escape wheel pinion activated by a bolt at 5 o’clock, bimetallic compensation curb on the index regulator. Gold hinged cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute/dead seconds divisions an original gold Breguet hands. Case with engine-turned band, polished back. Cuvette signed, case punched CC within a lozenge.
